All streets on the Southern Side of Marshall >>>>>> From General Joubert street to Webster Street will be closed and only accredited vehicles will be allowed access. These roads will be closed from today 16 June 2010 at Midnight to 3 hours after the game ended. This includes van Zyl Slabbert street. Dorp street will also be closed at the Tzaneen Bypass.
No vehicles will be allowed to park at the Stadium without FIFA accredited parking vehicles assess permits (VAP)
NO VEHICLES MAY PARK IN MARSHALL AND SURROUNDING STREETS AND WILL BE TOWED TO THE MUNICIPAL POUND >>>>>
15 Vehicles were towed from illegal parking’s with the previous match on 13 June 2010.
Three lanes in Marshall street will be open for traffic and 1 lane on the right hand side will be a delegated lane for accredited busses and taxis. The same apply to Webster and Potgieter Streets.
Both the Park and Ride South in Nirvana and North at the Polokwane International Airport will be open and visitors to the Stadium and Fan Fest must use the Park and Rides. It is free and transport to and from the Stadium is free. Security will look after parked vehicles. The Park and Rides will open at 10h00 on 17 June 2010.
25 000 people made use of the Park and Rides on the 13th .
>>>>> Residents from Polokwane, Seshego and Mankweng is requested to make use of the Park and Ride North Facilities at Polokwane International
170 Traffic Police officers will be deployed on Thursday at The Peter Mokaba Stadium, Park and Rides, Airport, Railway Station and Road Closures.
Two Traffic Police Brake down vehicles will patrol all streets to tow away illegal vehicles.
Fan Fest 16 June 2010
About 19 000 people attended the Bafana Bafana opening match at the Fan Fest.
FREE Parking for people attending the fan Fest TODAY for the BafanaBafana game at 20h30 must make use of the secured parking facilities at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Dorp Street. This parking facility is 300 meters from the Fan Fest entrance
No parking will be allowed in Suid Street and streets surrounding the Fan Fest. And vehicles will be towed.
