South African road users are often frustrated by potholes and the vehicle damage that they suffer as a result of these threats on our roads. The frustrations are not unique to South Africa – and the Arrive Alive website received an email with the message “Stop Complaining and USE them!” Included in this message are several photos of potholes from abroad and funny poses next to them!
There has been a significant increase of emails received via the Arrive Alive website and Car Insurance Blog related to this damage – and we have decided to focus on this topic and provide advice and suggestions to our road users.
We have previously discussed potholes in the blog post titled “Can I claim for Pothole damage?”
We believe that more information needs to be provided and started a series on potholes, road construction and the law. These posts could contribute towards providing road users with the necessary information:
- Car Insurance, road damage, potholes and the law
- Negligence, the Reasonable Man and Car Insurance
- Who is the reasonable driver when he drives near potholes?
- When are road construction companies deemed negligent for vehicle damage?
We would like to invite visitors to share and send info and suggestions on themes you would like to see addressed…
