    The question always remains with these things, is exactly what percentage of the income derived from these things actually goes towards the “maintenance/upgrading” of the roads and how much is pure profit that goes straight into the pockets of the owners/shareholders of these companies running the things?

    They are not in it for the greater good of mankind and the motoring public…it is a business and they are in it for the profits…..pure and simple.

    If the taxes we pay through the various methods used to raise them: I.E. Fuel levies, VAT etc.etc. were properly applied and used for the purpose they are designed for, then these ridiculously expensive monstrosities would not be needed.
