Following an investigation into illegal drug activities, detectives from the Western Cape Directorate of Priority Crime Investigations (HAWKS) and Milnerton Cluster Crime Intelligence, conducted observation over a period of four days on the movements of a suspect and a storage facility where he allegedly kept drugs.
On Friday 15 August at approximately 11:50 the members executed a search warrant at the storage facility in Table View where 2 kilograms of Methamphetamine, commonly known as “Tik” and also Phenacetene, was seized. The estimated value thereof is R600 000.00. (Six hundred thousand Rand). Â R95 000.00 in cash was also seized.
The suspect, a 40 year old Nigerian male (and a resident of Parklands, Table View) was arrested and detained for further investigation. He is due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday 18 August 2014.
