Gauteng police have arrested 10 suspects yesterday (Monday, 03 November 2014) for the illegal possession of a hijacked vehicle and confiscated two firearms, two magazines as well as ammunition.
The suspects aged between 25 and 60 years old were arrested at a plot in De Deur near Vereeniging following a car hijacking in Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg. The suspects will appear in the Vereeniging magistrate court tomorrow on charges for the illegal possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. More charges may be added as the investigation continues.
During the arrest police also confiscated AMC cooking pots, 4 laptops, balaclavas, shocking devices, electronic jamming devices as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.
