A man has survived a horror crash with serious injuries after the vehicle he was driving collided with another vehicle before hitting the armco barrier on the N2 North bound near Spaghetti Junction just after 1pm today.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived on scene and expected the worst when they saw the vehicle. The armcor barrier had sliced through the centre of the vehicle causing the driver to sustain serious injuries. Rescue’s Care Paramedic Nicola Bloem one of the first paramedics on scene was shocked at what she saw “When I saw how the armcor barrier had sliced through the car I expected the worst, fortunately there were no passengers in the vehicle or this could have been fatal accident. The driver is very lucky to be alive.”
The injured driver had sustained serious injuries and was stabilized on scene by Rescue Care Advanced Life Support paramedic before being transported to a nearby private hospital.
At this stage it is unclear the events leading up to the collision however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further.
