Two men were injured early this morning after a car drove off a bridge on the N2 in Umgabba in Durban South.
ER24 paramedics, along with Fire services, were called to the scene, and on their arrival, found the light motor wedged between the barriers and bridge.
Two male occupants lay trapped inside the vehicle and were in a serious condition. Fire services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the men in a 30 minute operation.
Once freed, paramedics immobilised and treated the patients for their injuries. Once treated, both patients were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
