This morning there have been two fatal crashes in the UThungulu district of KZN, which paramedics from the KZN Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services responded to.
A 55 year-old man sustained fatal injuries during a collision which involved two bakkies, on the N2 in the Mtunzini area. One person from the other vehicle had sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital.
In a separate incident, two women and a man who were occupants of the car involved in the in the crash have sustained fatal injuries during a crash between a bakkie and a car, near the KwaMbonambi turn off from the N2.
Paramedics treated a woman, who was an occupant of the car and a man, who was driving the bakkie, for serious injuries. The patients were transported to local hospitals for continued medical care.
The police are investigating the exact cause of these crashes.
