A man believed to be in his 40’s had to be airlifted to hospital after being injured in a collision involving three vehicles on the N12 about 8km outside Fochville earlier this morning.
ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found the man trapped in one of the vehicles. Fire and Rescue, with the help of paramedics, extricated the man from the vehicle with the jaws of life and other rescue tools.
Upon assessment by paramedics it was found that the man was in a critical condition. He was airlifted to hospital for further medical care. Four other people sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. They were treated and transported to hospital by ambulance for further medical care.
The exact cause of the collision is unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
