Twenty-five people, including children being ferried to primary school, have been injured during a crash between two bakkies on the R603 Umbumbulu road, south of Durban, earlier this morning.
Paramedics from the KZN Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services and local private ambulance services responded to the crash.
Six patients had sustained serious injuries, while the remaining patients had all sustained minor injuries.
The injured patients were treated at the scene before being transported to hospitals in the area for continued medical care.
The exact cause of the crash is not known at this stage and will be investigated by the police
