A man, believed to be in his 20s, was left seriously injured this afternoon when he was knocked over by a taxi on Cedara Road in Cedara, located between Hilton and Howick in KwaZulu-Natal.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found that local authorities were already in attendance, closing off the busy road.
Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the body of a man lying in the middle of the road.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous fractures to both of his legs as well as a serious head injury.
Treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated in an effort to stabilise the patients vital signs.
Once stable, the patient was loaded into an awaiting ER24 ambulance and transported to Northdale hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the taxi was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene to launch an investigation into this collision.
