A woman, believed to be 23 years old, was hit by a train close to the Winklespruit train station in Amanzimtoti this morning.
At approximately 08h50, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the woman lying in a puddle of water next to the railway.
The woman sustained moderate injuries to her leg.
Vema medics helped to treat the woman and she was transported to Prince Mshiyeni Regional Hospital for further medical care.
The exact cause of this incident is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
