Paramedics attend to 2 after robbery at Rivonia pizza outlet

 

 

 

 

At approximately 19h59 on Saturday night 16 May 2009, Netcare 911 paramedics responded to reports of a shooting at a pizza restaurant and takeaway outlet in Rivonia boulevard, Sandton.

Upon arrival, paramedics were informed that there had been a robbery but that no shots had been fired. Paramedics attended to two female employees at the scene, the first was the manageress who had been pistol whipped, she had been hit on her head by the attackers firearm when she could not open the safe. The second victim told paramedics that she was six months pregnant and although she had not been touched by the attackers, her state of shock had resulted in serious abdominal pains. Fortunately both of the victims were in a stable condition and they were transported by ambulance to the Emergency Unit at the Netcare Sunninghill hospital for further assessment and treatment.

The robbers escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and nobody else was injured.
This incident was attended to by Netcare 911, SAPS and private security companies.
