Netcare 911 rushed to the scene of an accident on the N2 south near Umgeni road where 2 cars collided. One of the vehicles veered of the road and hit the barriers destroying them for several meters. Parts of the vehicle were still lodged in the barriers – This definitely prevented them from going into the on-coming traffic of the north bound lane.
The barriers prevented an accident that would most certainly resulted in loss of life. A female patient from the car that collided with the barriers sustained some suspected spinal injuries and after paramedics immobilised her, she was transported to the St Augustine’s hospital for further treatment.
