Netcare 911 and the emergency services rushed to the scene of an accident on the N2 south Near Umgababa Ultra City but they did not expect to see such a gruesome sight. A delivery vehicle slammed into the rear of a stationary 14 wheeler truck and trailer totally destroying the front of the delivery vehicle .
Sadly the passenger of this vehicle was killed on impact. The driver sustained critical injuries and firemen and paramedics worked for over an hour to free him from the wreckage. After he was stabilised the Red Cross helicopter was used to airlift him to the St Augustine’s hospital for further treatment.
Once again paramedics are pleading with motorists to lower there speed and take caution on our roads.
