Domestic worker found drowned in swimming pool in Centurion

This morning, Wednesday 10 June 2009, Netcare 911 paramedics responded to reports of a drowning in the suburb of Doringkloof in Centurion.

The home owner alleged that his child had seen the domestic worker floating in the swimming pool and called him for help, the maid was removed from the pool and paramedics were summoned to the scene. The advanced life support paramedic attended to the victim alongside the swimming pool, sadly there were no signs of life and the victim was declared dead at the scene and the SAPS were informed of the incident. The certificate of death was then handed over to the officials from Lyttelton SAPS. The victim, who lived on the property, had not been seen by the family since last night.

The 47 year old female victim was identified by the home owner and he said that she had worked for him for approximately eight years.
