This afternoon Netcare 911 rushed to the scene of a truck accident on the M19 at the N2 off ramp. When paramedics arrived they were faced with absolute carnage as a heavy goods truck overturned after coming down the off ramp from the N2. According to a co- driver the brakes failed.It is only a miracle that he did not take a few cars with him as it is a very busy intersection.
The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and was trapped in the wreckage of the truck. Firemen used the jaws of life to free him. After he was stabilised the patient was airlifted to the Netcare St Augustine’s hospital for further treatment.
