This evening at around 18h30 Netcare 911 rushed to the scene of a horrific accident on the R603 near the M35. When we arrived we were faced with unbelievable carnage – two 4 x 4 vehicles collided head on but the debris were scattered over about 100 meters and both vehicles were totally destroyed.
The drivers of both vehicles was trapped in the wreckage and fireman and paramedics had there hands full trying to free them using the jaws of life. A total of 6 people were injured in this accident. Sadly two of them died on scene due to the severity of there injuries – 2 others sustained critical injuries and a further 2 sustained serious injuries .
Paramedics worked frantically to stabilise the patients and then transported them to various hospitals in the area.
