The Arrive Alive website received an email with a request for traffic enforcement on a specific stretch of road. This confirms that road users are not against traffic enforcement and would actually encourage highly visible and effective enforcement!

I would like to quote:

“Subject: Traffic offences at the crossing of the R55 and Mainroad
Message:
——–
Is there in some way or method to alert the JMPD to have the intersection at the R55 and Main Road policed in the afternoons?

When coming from Lonehill on Main Road, there is a slipway to the left to turn into the R55 towards Centurion. The two lanes that lead into the intersection are marked to turn right only.

Taxis and motorists ignore this and go into the intersection and the turn left, causing a dangerous situation and cluttering the intersection for law abiding motorists’. They even skip the red robot.

Some discipline is needed at this intersection

I can’t find a place on the JMPD’s web page to report this.

Please assist the law abiding motorists’.

Regards,
Derrick”

We have referred this to the National Traffic Call Centre and Enforcement at the RTMC.
