Two women (53 & 77) beaten and pistol whipped by gang during farm attack, eastern Free State

 

 

 

 

On Monday 08 June 2009, Netcare 911 paramedics responded to two incidents that were both related to a farm attack in the Rosendal area approximately 90km from Bethlehem, in the eastern Free State.

In the first incident paramedics attended to two female victims following an armed robbery on their farm by a gang of attackers. The first victim was 77 years old, she had been assaulted with a firearm and had sustained chest and facial injuries. The second female victim who was 53 years old had also been hit on her body and pistol whipped in the face. Fortunately both of the victims were in stable condition and they were transported by ambulance to the Ficksburg hospital for further assessment and treatment.

Several hours later, paramedics attended to a 66 year old male farmer who had fallen off a bakkie while searching the area for the suspects. The victim was treated for fractures to his ribs on his left side, he too was in a stable condition and was transported by ambulance to the Ficksburg hospital for further treatment.

These incidents were attended to by Netcare 911 and the SAPS.
