In Margate’s extension 3 on Alexander road, a collision between a maroon Hyundai and a white Honda closed the road for about an hour. The driver and passenger from the maroon Hyundai escaped from their car that overturned.
The driver of the white Honda however was trapped in the vehicle with critical injuries. The protection service used the jaws of life to gain access to the patient allowing the Netcare 911 paramedics to treat and stabilize the driver. He was then transported to the Port Shepstone hospital for further treatment.
