Yesterday evening I came across this photo of Heinrich Brussow making a tackle. This was taken during the recent Super 14 tournament by JJ Jackson and captures for me that which all South African rugby supporters would like to see from all our players. ..Total commitment – giving your best and nothing less!!
During the past month I have been very impressed with Heinrich Brussow. He has become a favourite amongst the crowds and I believe the reason is to be found in the following:
– Despite being a short guy – he will not stand back for the bigger players!
– He will not go on the pitch half-hearted!
– We might not win the game – but there will be no doubting the effort from his side!
– He will remain humble, be a team player and give recognition to team mates!
I believe that the same can be said of Beast Mtawarira!
So why do I write this on the road safety blog? Perhaps this is what we as South Africans would like to see from our other South Africans in other areas of society as well…A total commitment to improving South Africa and the lives of fellow South Africans…Striving to be the best we can be…Being appreciative of our blessings and humble in our successes…and giving it our very best!!
