We would like to share positive news received ahead of the 2009 Intervarsity in Potchefstroom. Several partners have joined forces in efforts to make this Intervarsity a safe event – and a special focus has been placed on the safe driving by students between Bloemfontein and Potchefstroom.

Intervarsity 2009 – SAB support
We just received the very good news that SAB is supporting our project for an amount of R50,000-00. Our most sincere thanks go to advocate Neo Sephoti who took an interest in our students and started the ball rolling. Her hard work has ensured that we have SAB “Draw the Line” t-shirts and caps, as well as water and energy drinks to distribute at the Wesselsbron halfway-stop. Part of the SAB support will also go towards the R200-00 petrol vouchers as part of the incentive for student drivers to stay sober.
A snippet from her e-mail to us: “SAB has an extensive programme on Responsible drinking as well as what we call Responsible Use of Alcohol. The Draw the Line campaign has been running for close to four years and has proven to be successful and has been actioned on both campuses (UFS & UNW Potch during different campaigns or promotions). One of our key messaging in Draw the Line has been Don’t Drink and Drive and we are honoured to be part of this campaign.”
One of the Arrive Alive website partners, Precision Safety Appliances – specialists in Breath Measurement equipment, has also thrown their weight behind these efforts. Precision Safety Appliances will be handing out first aid kits and cd’s to the approximate value of R20-000.

• Wesselsbron half way stop
• Follow the R719

• Turn left on the R501 to Potchefstroom
