At around 07h30 Netcare 911 rushed to the Port Edward ski boat club for a boat that had overturned. When paramedics arrived on scene they found that 5 SAPS members were going out on a ski boat and overturned at back line.
NSRI raced to their assistance and managed to lift four men into their boat. A fifth person was trapped under the boat and after he was pulled back to shore paramedics treated him for near drowning symptoms and transported him the the Netcare Margate hospital for further treatment.
