18 Month old boy found in pool in Widenham

This afternoon just after 5pm Netcare 911 rushed to Widenham on the South Coast near Scottburgh for a drowning. On arrival they found that a 18 month old boy slipped away from his parents and when they went looking for him, the mom just saw his legs sticking out of the pool, She ran over and she and others pulled the child out of the pool. He stopped breathing and they started to do CPR.

The child fortunately responded well, his heart started beating and he started breathing spontaneously. The boy and his mother were transported to the Netcare Kingsway hospital where he is in a stable condition.

Once again we want to plead with pool owners to keep their pools safe for children, either by using pool nets or to insure that children have no access to a pool without adult supervision .
