Colin Govender from KZN wins traffic officer of the year award for 2009

It is our great pleasure to congratulate Mr Colin Govender on winning the Traffic Officer of the Year 2009 award! This was announced on the 28th of August by the Road Traffic Management Corporation at an awards gala evening, graced by the presence of traffic police veterans from all provinces!

Mr Govender has also been one of the “Road Safety Experts” providing assistance to the Arrive Alive website with queries from the public on road safety matters!

The awards ceremony took place in Cape Town as part of the inaugural International Road Traffic Safety Management Conference which is underway since Monday, 24 August until today, 28 August.

“These awards are aimed at encouraging and motivating law enforcement officials and road safety officials to perform duties with enthusiasm and due care,” said a special advisor to the Minister of Transport Dr Mbanjwa when addressing more than a thousand guests.
