This afternoon at around 15 00 Netcare 911 and the Fire services rushed to the scene of an accident on the N2 South in Amanzimtoti. When we arrived on scene we found that a corsa bakkie collided into an embankment then rolled several times and landed on its roof with the driver trapped in the wreckage.
Firemen and paramedics worked frantically to free the critically injured man. Within minutes the Netcare 3 medical helicopter with a trauma team on board landed to assist in the stabilisation of the patient, and then airlifted him to the Netcare St Augustine’s hospital for further treatment.
