Tonight at around 20h00 Netcare 911 rushed to the scene of an accident on the M4 South near the Umbilo Canal. On arrival they found the freeway totally blocked off. A pedestrian ran across the freeway and was hit by a taxi, causing 3 other vehicles to collide with the taxi.
The pedestrian sadly died on scene due to the severity of his injuries and 4 other persons sustained serious injuries. All the patients were treated on scene and then transported to various hospitals for further treatment.
