My windscreen is not a post box or billboard!

Perhaps I am not the only one annoyed at getting advertising material stuffed beneath the windscreen wipers. There are few things more annoying than running in the rain to your vehicle, starting the vehicle and as you turn on the wipers, being forced to observe a variety of “Specials” flash in front of your eyes!

I have decided to never read the contents of these pamphlets. If the only thing to cool my temper is the thought that someone has paid for this and I am not giving him the satisfaction of being even remotely interested in his “Special” then it is fine with me!

The practise of stuffing promotional materials underneath the windscreen wipers might not only be damaging – but presents a safety hazard as well! Many of these brochures of bad quality will disintegrate and stick to the windscreen and they have to be cleaned bit by bit. They also reduce the visibility of the driver and might cause the driver to stop at a stop next to the road where it is not safe!
