Springbok rugby is all about commitment!!

I still remember a photo posted by Bob Skinstad on the internet before the first test against the British and Irish Lions. The photo captured the slogan in the team room with the words “Total commitment to the Team, there is no in- between…”

On Saterday we enjoyed another winning Springbok performance. Having viewed the game a few times since, I am convinced that the players in this team are really playing for one another. I have viewed a few photos of the match captured by Gerhard Steenkamp of Superimage Media, and these photos do not lie…

It is interesting on how many of these we find “double tackles” made by the Springboks as well as the facial expressions of the Springboks as they “line up” the opposition for a tackle. The photo of Heinrich Brussow making a tackle with both feet horizontally in the air is an excellent illustration of the commitment shown by the Springboks.

I believe that Coach De Villiers and Captain John Smit deserve much of the credit for the positive attitude of commitment from the Springboks! This warms the heart of every Bok Supporter – and will continue to grow the support amongst an even larger part of the South African population!!
