Worker injured as pile of wood falls on his leg

This morning Netcare 911 rushed to the scene of an accident in Teakwood road  just outside Durban. On arrival paramedics found that a heavy goods truck was stopped by the traffic department for an infringement when the load of wood fell of the back of the truck and landed on the conductor of the truck.

With the pile of wood weighing several tons it cuased very serious injuries to his right leg. Paramedics worked frantically to stabilise the man on scene.

“In cases like these time is of the utmost importance to try and save the young mans leg”, said paramedic Garrith Jameson. The patient was transported to the Netcare St Augustine’s hospital for emergency surgery.
