This afternoon Netcare 911 rushed to the scene of an accident on the N3 near Howick where 3 heavy goods vehicles collided with each other. One of the vehicles landed under a road tanker trapping 6 people. Fire fighters and paramedics worked relentlessly for several hours trying to free the men. Sadly 3 of them died on scene due to the severity of there injuries.
A total of 2 people sustained critical injuries while 5 others had serious injuries. All the patients were treated on scene and then transported to hospitals in Pietermaritzburg for further treatment.
