This afternoon at around 15h30 Netcare 911 paramedics from Margate and all the emergency services raced to the scene of a very tragic accident on the N2 between Paddock and Portshepstone. When they arrived on scene they were faced with a bakkie that had collided with a passenger bus.
4 People from the Bakkie died on scene – two of them small children. A further 1 patient is in a critical condition, 2 persons are in a serious condition – one of them a pregnant mother that went into labour due to the accident. A further 27 people sustained minor injuries. Four people were cut out of the wreckage using the jaws of life and paramedics from several services has there hands full trying to stabilise the injured people.
It is expected that the numbers of deaths will change, and as it comes through i will update you…
