Four men seriously injured in late night smash. R102 & Inanda Road, Durban

Four men were seriously injured when the car they were travelling in collided with roadside concrete barriers in the intersection of the R102 and Inanda Roads, Newlands East, Durban at 21h00 on Saturday night. It is thought that the driver of the VW Jetta 5 lost control of the vehicle while trying to take a corner and slammed into roadside barriers, the vehicle coming to rest in the intersection.

When Netcare 911 Paramedics arrived at the scene they found the four occupants of the car lying at the roadside, it is believed that they were pulled from their vehicle by members of the public who witnessed the accident and rushed to their aid. The men were treated and stabilised at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for further medical care.

In another incident, one man was seriously injured when two cars collided in the intersection of Umgeni Road and the N2 interchange, Durban at 21h50 on Saturday night.

The man sustained possible spinal and head injuries and was treated at the scene before Netcare 911 Paramedics transported him by ambulance to Addington Hospital, Durban for further medical care. He was the only casualty of the collision.
