moolmans

Training started on the 22nd of September 2009 in the Kenny Hand 2008 Training Centre at Kumba Iron Ore Mine. 48 Employees attended the first session. Completion date on training the remainder of the 314 employees are planned for the 4th of October 2009.

The aim of the training is to educate collogues on the dangers that exists at home, on public roads and how you can implement mining safe practices to promote your own safety and that of your family. The training consists of procedures and advise as far as seatbelts, drunken driving, speeding, tyre maintenance, chemicals, electricity and fire are concerned.

A great deal of information where supplied by the Arrive Alive Website and feedback from the workers afterwards were positive.

This is only but the first step in the Safety @ Home Campaign launched by Moolmans Sishen Project and we hope that the result of the campaign will be as positive as the result from the first training session.
