A suspect was shot dead and a police officer sustained critical injuries in the Inanda area this afternoon. It is believed that the SAPS went into the Inanda area near the Quarry to look for a suspect when the officer was attacked and hit in the head with bricks .
When paramedics arrived on scene the officer was in a critical condition. The Netcare 3 Helicopter with a doctor on board was called to stabilise and airlift the officer to the Netcare St Augustine’s hospital in Durban for further treatment.
They also accessed the suspect who sustained a gunshot wound but he had died on scene .
