A woman died in an accident on the N3 just past the Cato Ridge Oasis this afternoon. The bakkie believed to have been travelling along the south bound lost control, cleared the Armco barriers and hit an oncoming 18 wheeler truck. The truck then lost control and overturned down an embankment and landed on top of the bakkie .
Paramedics arrived on scene and raced down the embankment to assist the patients but they were faced with tragedy as the female driver of the vehicle died on scene due to the massive injuries that she sustained. The driver of the truck only sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital in Pietermaritzburg for further treatment.
