Twelve people died in a horror taxi smash this morning at around 10h00 , with 3 others sustaining critical injuries . The taxi was travelling along Molotto Road when for some unknown reason the driver lost control and plunged some 10 meters down an embankment .
Some of the passengers was thrown out of the back door of the vehicle as it tumbled down the steep embankment . The other passengers were trapped inside the mangled wreckage of the vehicle as it came to rest in a grassy area..
While fire-fighters used the jaws of life to free the patients from the wreckage , paramedics from Netcare 911 and the provincial services worked fervently to stabilise the critically injured patients before transporting them the nearby hospitals for further treatment.
