A side- on impact accident left a female driver in her 20’s with serious injuries. Exact details of the accident is still not clear, however it is believed that a 4×4 was turning across the M27 in Ormonde when a vehicle collided into the side of the 4×4. Both vehicles were badly damaged and came to rest on a concrete island next to the road.
When paramedics arrived on scene the female driver was still in the wreckage of her vehicle, and complained of severe pain in her spine. Taking special care the Netcare 911 paramedics immobilized the patient on a trauma board to prevent any further injuries to her spinal column, and then removed her from the vehicle.
After the patient was stabilized she was transported to the Netcare Union hospital for further treatment.
