A 33 year old man is fighting for his life in a Pretoria hospital after he was the victim of a taxi accident in the Randfontein area last night. He was transported from the accident scene to a provincial hospital, and then later transferred to a private hospital in Randfontein.
At 06h15 this morning the Netcare 1 medical helicopter was activated, with a specialized trauma team on board. When they landed at the scene they found that the 33 year old male was in a critical condition, and that he had lost the pulse in the left leg and had multiple fractures from the pelvis down.
The aero medical team fervently worked to stabilize and package the patient before airlifting him to the Medforum hospital in Pretoria for further treatment.
