A nine-year-old girl was killed when she was run over by a minibus taxi in Geekie Road, Merrivale in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands this afternoon.
The girl had been running towards a taxi that had just dropped her outside her house. While circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear, the girl was pulled under the taxi.
When Netcare 911 Paramedics arrived at the scene they found the girl lying lifeless at the roadside. She was declared dead as a result of massive head trauma.
