An email has been doing the rounds for the past 2 years with horrific photos of a motorcycle accident. Many of these try to focus the attention on helmet safety by ending with the words “He Lived”.

This unfortunately is not the truth and we can confirm that the motorcyclist Brandon Lee White died in this tragic accident.

The Tulsa collision happened about 1 a.m. Tuesday 17 April 2007.

Police said witnesses reported that White’s motorcycle appeared to be going at least 120 mph when it crashed into the truck on U.S. 169 south of 81st Street.

Police said the truck driver reported hearing a bump and then seeing debris from the motorcycle going past him. When he managed to pull over, he saw that a man was embedded in the back of his trailer, police said. White was dead at the scene.

Brandon’s family has said that they hope this tragic accident would help to bring attention to the issue of motorcycle safety. The family hopes that this death will place a greater emphasis on the following measures:

• Helmet requirement laws
• Harsher penalties for speeding on a motorcycle
• Community based services to decrease drunken driving
