Two people were killed and another seriously injured when two cars collided on the Old Greytown Road near Wartburg in the Kwa-Zulu-Natal Midlands, shortly after 7pm on Thursday night.
On colliding, both cars spun out of control with one of the vehicles overturning. The driver of the upended car was thrown from the spinning vehicle on impact, with his passenger found trapped in the crumpled wreckage of the car. Both died at the scene as a result of their injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the other car was treated and stabilised by Netcare 911 Paramedics at the scene before being transported by ambulance to a hospital nearby.
