Two people are critically injured and two others sustained serious injuries when a traffic vehicle and a bakkie collided at the intersection of Commissioner Street and Hospital road in Boksburg central this morning just after seven. What caused the vehicles to collide is still a subject for investigation; however the errant party turned in front of the other vehicle causing a side impact collision in the intersection.
Paramedics from Netcare 911 and fire-fighters had to use the Jaws of Life to free the critically injured patient from the mangled wreckage of the bakkie. After paramedics stabilized the patients the three traffic officers were transported to the Netcare Sunward Park hospital for further treatment. The critically injured driver from the Bakkie was transported to a local provincial hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
