A palisade fence claimed the life of a 56 year old construction worker this afternoon in the Selcourt area of Spring. Exact detail are still a subject for investigation, however the elderly man seemed to have lost his balance while working on the roof of a building in Commonwealth road.
Fellow workers was horrified as they watched there friend falling onto a palisade fence that impaled his body. Clambering down the roof as fast as possible, they ran and pulled the critically injured man from the fence.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene within minutes of receiving the call, but tragically the man had succumbed from the horrific injuries that he had sustained .
