A house fire in 10th avenue Alberton claimed the life of an 80 year old female this afternoon just before 16h00. Although the cause of the fire is still speculative, fireman and paramedics arrived on scene to find the house engulfed in flames.
Firemen battled the inferno while paramedics stood by as it was reported that a person was trapped in the fire. Sadly after fire-fighters extinguished the fire they found the remains of the elderly occupant.
SAPS and fire services will be conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
