A male in his 30’s is in a critical condition after his vehicle plummeted some 10 meters down an embankment on the N14 near the William Nichol off ramp. What caused the man to leave the road is still unclear – it is believed that he was traveling on the N14 coming from the Diepsloot area towards Krugersdorp, he lost control of the vehicle and rolled several times down the embankment.
When the Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the bystanders had pulled the critical wounded man back up the embankment and placed him next to the roadway.
Realizing that the patient needs to get to a level one trauma facility paramedics called for the assistance of the Netcare 1 medical helicopter. The patient was stabilized and then airlifted to the Baragwaneth hospital where he is receiving further medical care.
