An 80 year old male was critically injured after been hit by a motorbike on the Olifantsfontein road this afternoon at around 17h27. Details of the accident is still a subject for police investigation however bystanders implied that the elderly man was hit by a motorcyclist while trying to cross the roadway.
The patient sustained traumatic injuries to his lower limbs and paramedics from Netcare 911 and the provincial services worked fervently to stabilize the elderly gentleman. He was transported to a nearby provincial hospital for further treatment.
Paramedics did not see the motorcyclist on scene and details of his injuries or damage to his bike is unknown.
