Seven people were seriously injured in an accident on the Modderfontein road near the intersection of Laurie street this morning at around 11h20. Details of the accident is still speculative and for police investigation, however a Toyota Quantum smashed into the back of a 5 ton truck moving it forward at such a rate that it collided into a further two vehicles.
The front passenger in the Quantum was trapped and fireman had to use the Jaws of Life to free him from the mangled wreckage. The six remaining patients were found in the centre median all with serious injuries.
Paramedics worked fervently to stabilize the 7 injured before transporting them to a private hospital in Kempton Park.
