A police officer died and two others are injured in an accident this morning at the intersection of Zambezi and Aldo streets in the Sinorville suburb of Pretoria. (05h20)
Details of the accident is still for police investigation, however the police vehicle and another car collided in the intersection. When Paramedics from Netcare 911 arrived on scene they found the mangled wreckages of both vehicles in the intersection. Three police officers in the SAPS vehicle sustained severe injuries. Sadly a female officer died on scene due to the severity of her injuries. One officer was in a critical condition and a third officer had sustained serious injuries. The occupants of the second vehicle were uninjured.
Advanced life Support Paramedics worked fervently to stabilize the two officers and then transported them to the Netcare Montana hospital in Pretoria for further treatment.
